As you may know, I spent this past week in Orlando for training & team building for my new job. If you didn’t read about how upset hubby was about this trip please read here before continuing.
Ok, so now you know that hubby wasn’t upset that I was going away but he was upset that I was going to Disney without him. When I left, I assured him that I would not being “hanging with the mouse” or visiting “the mouse’s house” without him. I reitterated to him that I’d be stuffed into a meeting room at my hotel, as every single minute of my time there was booked with structured work activity.. from 7:00am thru 10:00pm.
So you can imagine my surpise one evening when we had a surprise guest visit us at dinner….
Although I didn’t have any time to visit Mickey, my company brought Mickey to me. Perhaps they knew the best way to upset my hubby since I left him at home to contend with countless things without me or, perhaps they thought they really were doing the right thing. I mean after all, it sort of borders on scrilege to stay at a Disney resort and not get to meet Mickey… right??!!
Now, many people might have withheld this info but, hubby & I don’t have secrets. And (as you may have guessed) I like to poke at hubby on occasion… So, I just had to have a colleague take this picture with my cell phone so I could send it to hubby immediately… with the note “sorry babe… but Mickey says hi!”
Yes, I suppose you could say that I’m a horrible person… and perhaps a white lie was the best route to take here (total denial about any Mouse sightings) but hey, I wasn’t gonna be rude and refuse a picture with the most famous mouse on the planet. And, once you have a picture of yourself with a celebrity you just have to share it…. don’t you??. So, if texting it to hubby means that I suck. I accept my suckiness because I now have a cool new profile picture to put onto Facebook.. And, as a happily married couple, don’t you want to celebrate the great things that happen to your partner? So, my dear hubby… be happy for me that I got to see the mouse… it was an exciting surprise. And, I really did say to everyone around me… “I wish my hubby was here to see Mickey too!” (that’s gotta count for something.. right?)
